The AI security alliance between NTT DATA and Palo Alto Networks aims to help organizations securely adopt AI, modernize cybersecurity and build cyber resilience for the AI era.

The multi-year strategic alliance combines Palo Alto Networks’ AI-powered cybersecurity platforms with NTT DATA’s consulting, engineering and managed services.

The agreement targets $1 billion in joint business by the end of three years, by 2029. It also marks Palo Alto Networks’ first strategic alliance of this kind with a global systems integrator.

Through joint engineering, co-innovation and coordinated global delivery, the companies will help clients assess cyber risk, deploy AI securely and continuously optimize security. As a result, organizations will have an integrated approach covering cybersecurity strategy, implementation and managed services.

The AI security alliance builds on the companies’ existing Frontier AI collaboration. It combines Palo Alto Networks Unit 42 threat intelligence with NTT DATA’s cybersecurity expertise, AI governance capabilities and managed services.

Moreover, the alliance is backed by joint investments, more than 2,000 Palo Alto Networks-certified professionals and dedicated Forward Deployed Engineers. NTT DATA will also gain early access to new platform features through direct engineering collaboration, supporting faster delivery of AI security services.

Initial solutions will target highly regulated and critical industries, including financial services, healthcare, manufacturing and the public sector. The offerings will focus on six strategic transformation areas.

Autonomous Security Operations Center (SOC): The companies will modernize security operations using Agentic AI and managed services. The solutions are designed to help organizations detect, investigate and respond faster to increasingly sophisticated, machine-speed cyber threats while reducing operational complexity.

AI governance: The solutions will embed governance, security and risk management throughout the AI lifecycle. This will help organizations manage emerging AI risks while scaling AI initiatives with greater accountability, transparency and control.

Identity security: The companies will protect human, machine and AI agent identities, including workloads and devices. An Identity Security Framework will help organizations discover, manage, secure and govern identities across the enterprise.

Zero Trust and SASE: The solutions will secure users, applications and data across increasingly complex attack surfaces. They will combine unified Zero Trust and secure edge architecture with AI-driven threat detection and prevention.

Resilient cloud: Organizations will gain improved visibility, compliance and autonomous risk reduction across multi-cloud environments. AI-enabled security posture management will support stronger governance.

Firewall modernization: The alliance will help organizations modernize firewall environments, reduce complexity, improve visibility and strengthen enterprise security.

He highlighted the need for a new approach to cyber resilience that combines AI-driven security, industry expertise and global scale.

NTT DATA brings more than 7,500 cybersecurity professionals, over 70 delivery centers and more than 20 Cyber Defense Centers to the collaboration. Combined with Palo Alto Networks’ AI-powered platforms and Unit 42 threat intelligence, the partnership aims to provide enterprises with the technology, expertise and global reach required to deploy AI securely across complex environments.
