The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) has launched a new executive programme in leadership, artificial intelligence and digital transformation. The initiative, run through the Sharjah Training and Development Centre (STDC), will take place at the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge from August 30 to September 5, 2026.

The programme is part of the Sharjah Chamber’s broader push to invest in human capital. It aims to build leaders who can keep pace with fast-moving changes in artificial intelligence, the digital economy and modern decision-making.

Moreover, the initiative sits within the Chamber’s wider strategic plans for 2026. It is designed to strengthen organisational agility by weaving AI directly into leadership frameworks and decision-making processes.

Senior academics and specialists from Oxford and Cambridge will lead the sessions. Additionally, experts from several other UK academic and professional institutions will take part.

Maryam Saif Al Shamsi, Assistant Director-General of the Support Services Sector at SCCI, said the programme reflects the Sharjah Chamber’s commitment to sustainable talent development. She added that such international programmes help equip leaders with future-ready tools to harness AI and emerging technologies. This, in turn, supports stronger competitiveness and a shift toward a knowledge-driven economy, in line with the future vision of Sharjah and the UAE.

Amal Abdullah Al Ali, Director of STDC, said the programme goes beyond traditional classroom learning. Instead, it offers an interactive platform that blends knowledge, practical application and hands-on experience. Participants will engage directly with leading academics, exchange ideas, and discuss real institutional challenges in an international learning setting.

The curriculum combines lectures, case studies, roundtable discussions, simulations and interactive presentations. Furthermore, it includes field visits and knowledge-exchange sessions across Oxford, Cambridge and Warwick.

Key topics include leadership in the AI era, decision-making under uncertainty, digital transformation, strategic leadership amid digital disruption, AI in financial services, technology governance, and data-driven executive decision-making.

Ultimately, the Sharjah Chamber views the programme as a step toward building future-ready leadership equipped to navigate an AI-driven world.
