Nutanix (NASDAQ: NTNX) and Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture (MEWA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen the Ministry’s digital infrastructure.

The MoU focuses on hybrid multicloud technologies, artificial intelligence adoption, and cybersecurity resilience. It also aims to support the development of national technical skills in Saudi Arabia.

Officials signed the agreement during LEAP Saudi Arabia 2026, a major technology event held in Riyadh. Dr. Abdullhameed Abdullah Aleliwi, Deputy Minister for Information Technology and Digital Transformation at MEWA, signed on behalf of the Ministry. Talal Al-Saif, Regional Director for Saudi Arabia at Nutanix, signed for the company. The signing reflected a partnership between government leadership and technology expertise.

Under the agreement, both organizations will work together to modernize MEWA’s digital infrastructure. As a result, the collaboration will use Nutanix’s hybrid cloud computing platform across multiple environments. In addition, it will support the adoption of artificial intelligence technologies within the Ministry.

The partnership will also focus on application and workload mobility. Specifically, it aims to enable seamless operation across data centers and different cloud environments. Meanwhile, the initiative will provide secure and flexible infrastructure to support business continuity and disaster recovery. Furthermore, it will help strengthen cybersecurity resilience across Ministry systems.

Beyond technology deployment, the MoU emphasizes national capability building. Therefore, the agreement supports knowledge transfer and the growth of local technical expertise in hybrid multicloud computing. This approach is intended to foster long-term knowledge sustainability and advance technology localization in the Kingdom.

Dr. Abdullhameed Abdullah Aleliwi described digital transformation as a key pillar supporting Saudi Arabia’s ambitions for resilient, agile, and data-driven public services. He added that the Ministry looks forward to exploring opportunities to enhance its digital infrastructure, strengthen business continuity, and build national capabilities in cloud and AI technologies.

Talal Al-Saif said the company is proud to support MEWA’s digital transformation agenda. He noted that the goal is to simplify hybrid multicloud operations while creating a foundation for emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence.
