The UAE Government’s Artificial Intelligence Office, working with the Dubai Centre for Artificial Intelligence, is sending a delegation of more than 50 officials to the United States to explore developments in Agentic AI. The group brings together Chief AI Officers along with leaders from federal and local government entities.

During the trip, the delegation will get direct exposure to global developments in Agentic AI. They will also examine advanced models and practices used by technology companies and academic institutions in the US.

The visit is meant to link government capabilities with international knowledge on Agentic AI. At the same time, officials will look into partnerships that could speed up its adoption across government services. This effort supports the UAE’s national target of converting 50% of government sectors, operations, and services into Agentic AI-powered operating models within two years.

The trip will run for five days and marks the second international mission for the country’s Chief AI Officers. It will focus on emerging trends in Agentic AI, along with models and practices developed by technology and academic institutions. Additionally, it aims to translate global expertise into practical advancements for government operations.

Omar Sultan Al Olama said the UAE is taking a proactive approach to building a government capable of anticipating technological shifts. He added that equipping government entities with dedicated AI leadership helps connect global developments with local needs, enabling more informed decisions on adopting new technologies.

According to Al Olama, the goal is to empower Chief AI Officers to lead AI adoption across government by building knowledge partnerships and deepening exposure to advanced global models. He noted this includes strengthening their understanding of the potential of Agentic AI and the requirements for its safe and responsible use, supporting the shift from exploring opportunities to deploying them across government services and operations.

Throughout the visit, the delegation will hold meetings with technology companies and academic institutions, including Dell Technologies, NVIDIA, Salesforce, Dreamforce, Cognition, Google, Poolside, Snowflake, Databricks, AMD, and Microsoft. They will also engage with Stanford University and the Institute of Foundation Models at Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence.

These engagements will cover the latest applications of Agentic AI, along with approaches to its development and adoption. Furthermore, discussions will address the opportunities and challenges tied to deploying such technology at scale. The delegation plans to exchange insights with technology experts and identify areas for collaboration that align with the priorities of UAE government entities.

Overall, the visit is designed to connect government leaders directly with global centers of innovation. In doing so, it aims to bring outside knowledge and experience into government entities, strengthening coordination and accelerating the shift from exploring emerging technologies to deploying them at scale.

Ahead of the trip, the UAE Government’s Artificial Intelligence Office and the Dubai Centre for Artificial Intelligence held a preparatory session for the Chief AI Officers. During this session, organizers presented the visit programme, highlighted key destinations, and discussed expected outcomes to help participants maximize the value of the trip.

Ultimately, these international visits reflect the UAE’s broader approach to staying connected with global technological transformation. By translating international knowledge into national expertise, and by relying on specialised AI leadership across entities, the UAE Government continues strengthening its readiness for the next phase of Agentic AI adoption.
