Acer has introduced the Acer Vero 16, a premium laptop built around repairability, recycled materials, and AI-powered performance. The device combines a MIL-STD-810H certified chassis with recycled and low-carbon aluminum, reflecting the company’s ongoing effort to reduce environmental impact throughout the product’s lifecycle.

Sustainability at the Core

Acer says sustainability now shapes every stage of a product’s life, from material sourcing to packaging. Consequently, the Acer Vero 16 is the fourth generation in the Vero consumer laptop lineup, and it brings several upgrades over earlier models.

The top and palm-rest covers use 50% post-industrial recycled (PIR) aluminum combined with 50% low-carbon aluminum. Meanwhile, the bottom cover contains 60% post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastic, and the display bezels include 30% PCR plastic. In addition, the laptop ships in fully recyclable packaging made from recycled materials.

Repairability Takes Center Stage

Beyond materials, Acer has expanded its design philosophy from the traditional “3R” approach (reduce, reuse, recycle) to a “4R” model that adds repairability. As a result, the Acer Vero 16 offers notably more repair-friendly features than its predecessor.

A visual guide engraved on the chassis walks users through repairs and upgrades. Furthermore, a tool-free access latch on the bottom cover simplifies entry to internal components, while both the battery and SSD can be replaced by users themselves. The hinge is designed to detach from the chassis, and removable I/O port covers on both sides make servicing easier. Notably, the device also supports processor upgrades for at least two future generations.

The chassis itself carries a solvent-free powder-coated finish, which lowers VOC emissions and improves wear resistance compared to conventional paint.

Performance and Display

Turning to performance, the Acer Vero 16 is powered by Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors, topping out at the Core Ultra X9 388H with up to 180 platform TOPS. An energy-efficient hybrid architecture works alongside a 71 Wh battery to support all-day use.

Display options include a 16-inch 3K OLED WQXGA+ panel, along with configurations offering up to 32 GB of LPDDR5x memory and up to 512 GB of SSD storage. For video calls, a 5MP IR camera with a privacy shutter adds both image quality and security.

Connectivity is well-rounded too. The laptop includes an SD card reader, HDMI 2.1 with HDCP, two Thunderbolt 4 ports, and two USB Type-A ports, one of which supports power-off charging. Intel Wi-Fi 7 rounds out the connectivity package.

Additionally, the backlit keyboard includes Acer MyKey, a customizable hotkey for launching apps and websites, while dual anti-vibration speakers aim to improve audio clarity.

Built-In AI Features

As a Windows 11 Copilot+ PC, the Acer Vero 16 supports on-device AI tools such as Click to Do, Cocreator, Live Captions with translation, and Windows Studio Effects. These features are designed to simplify daily tasks and enhance video calls.

Acer has also added its own AI tools, including instant QR code scanning, AI image generation, video playback speed adjustment, and text magnification. Acer PurifiedView enhances video conferencing through camera improvements, whereas Acer PurifiedVoice reduces background noise for clearer calls. AcerSense, accessible via a dedicated hotkey, offers quick control over performance modes, battery and storage optimization, and system monitoring.

Availability
