Shokz has officially launched OpenDots 2 in the UAE. The open-ear clip-on earbuds are designed for comfortable everyday listening. The product offers premium sound quality, clear calling and lightweight comfort. It also allows users to stay aware of their surroundings.

OpenDots 2 is suitable for work, commuting, leisure and active lifestyles. It targets consumers who want an alternative to conventional in-ear earbuds. The launch also reflects how open-ear audio is moving beyond sports and fitness. It is now becoming a broader personal-audio option for everyday life.

Open-Ear Category Continues to Grow

The launch comes as the global open-ear headphone market expands rapidly. According to an Omdia report, the category accounts for more than 10 per cent of the global personal-audio market share. Annual shipments are expected to exceed 30 million units by 2025.

The report also highlights that Shokz holds the largest individual brand share in the open-ear headphone category.

Sound Technology and Audio Features

OpenDots 2 features Shokz Bassphere™ 2.0. The system integrates two custom drivers into a spherical acoustic design. A redesigned diaphragm reduces sound distortion. As a result, the earbuds support cleaner bass and stronger audio performance.

The earbuds also include upgraded Dolby Audio. This delivers richer bass while keeping vocals clear. It also supports detail and a spacious soundstage.

In addition, DirectPitch™ technology directs sound towards the listener’s ear. This helps reduce audio leakage.

Call Quality and Design

Each earbud has a triple-microphone system. It includes two air-conduction microphones and one bone-conduction microphone. Adaptive beamforming and AI noise reduction support the system. Together, they improve voice pickup during calls.

The earbuds also use a flexible JointArc™ design. It combines a nickel-titanium structure with contoured silicone. This balances comfort and stability. It also adapts to different ear shapes.

Battery Life and Connectivity

Battery performance is another focus. OpenDots 2 delivers up to 10 hours of listening on a single charge. With the charging case, total listening time reaches up to 40 hours.

A five-minute quick charge provides up to two hours of playback. The charging case also supports Qi-certified wireless charging. Moreover, the earbuds carry an IP57 water-resistance rating for everyday activities.

The earbuds use Bluetooth 6.1 and MultiPoint Pairing. Users can connect to two devices at the same time and switch between them. Dynamic Ear Detection lets users wear either earbud in either ear.

The Shokz App adds further control. Users can customise EQ settings, gesture controls and MultiPoint connections. The app also includes a “Find My Earbuds” feature.

OpenDots 2 is now available in the UAE in pearl white, grey and black. It is priced at AED 699.
