Vertiv (NYSE: VRT) has announced a global ecosystem offering to support AI liquid cooling. The company described itself as a global provider of critical digital infrastructure.

The initiative brings together an expanded collaboration with Dow and a new partnership with Solenis. Dow is a materials science company and a provider of advanced coolant technologies. Solenis is a provider of specialty chemicals and water treatment solutions.

Together, the companies aim to help operators manage liquid cooling infrastructure as a single, integrated thermal system. The initiative combines Vertiv’s infrastructure, monitoring and global service capabilities with fluid chemistry, coolant and water treatment expertise.

AI workloads are driving unprecedented computing densities. As a result, liquid cooling is becoming a system-management challenge, not simply a component challenge. Reliability and performance now depend on the entire thermal chain.

That chain includes heat rejection and chilled water infrastructure. It also covers facility and technology cooling loops, coolant distribution and fluid chemistry. Filtration, leak detection, monitoring and controls are part of it as well.

Ron Bednar, Senior Vice President of Global and Americas Services at Vertiv, said the shift changes how operators approach cooling. “AI is changing liquid cooling from an equipment decision into a system-management imperative,” he said.

He added that operators need to manage several areas together. “Operators need to manage thermal infrastructure, fluid health, monitoring and lifecycle service as one interconnected discipline,” said Bednar. He also noted the expected benefits. “We believe that managing these complex interdependencies and fluid chemistry together will help operators improve system efficiency and uptime, reduce risk and extend equipment life.”

Vertiv expanded its collaboration with Dow through the Dow Coolant Care Network. It also initiated a new partnership with Solenis. Both efforts support end-to-end fluid management and thermal infrastructure services.

These offerings are integrated with Vertiv’s monitoring and lifecycle capabilities. They help customers maintain fluid quality and address system issues. They also help optimize liquid cooling performance throughout the system lifecycle.

Through this ecosystem, Vertiv, Dow and Solenis will help customers in six areas. First, they can design for system compatibility. This means optimizing cooling systems for maintainability and operational efficiency while ensuring compatibility across fluids, materials and infrastructure components.

Second, customers can establish clean, stable systems. This involves engineered flushing, precision filling, commissioning and filtration practices. These steps protect cooling infrastructure and maintain system cleanliness.

Third, customers can monitor the thermal system. The Vertiv™ Next Predict monitoring and analytics platform provides unified visibility into thermal infrastructure.

Fourth, customers can detect and address issues early. Continuous monitoring and integrated leak detection technologies support early operational response. They also improve resilience.

Fifth, customers can continuously optimize performance. Advanced analytics, software and data-driven insights help improve efficiency and water utilization.

Finally, customers can manage fluid health and total cost. Fluid chemistry is managed proactively across technical and facility water systems, based on system operating conditions. This supports equipment life and helps reduce total cost of ownership.

Overall, Vertiv integrates thermal infrastructure, fluid health, monitoring and lifecycle services into a unified operating model. The model is designed for high-density liquid-cooled infrastructure and reflects the growing importance of AI liquid cooling.
