Pure Storage, the provider of advanced data storage solutions, has made a significant announcement regarding the expansion of its Pure//E family of products. The company introduces the all-new FlashArray//E, which aims to provide customers with a comprehensive flash storage solution for all types of workloads.

The launch of FlashArray//E is a testament to Pure Storage’s commitment to liberate customers from the limitations of traditional disk-based storage. By offering an alternative to disk, FlashArray//E empowers enterprises to handle data growth efficiently, eliminating the need for offline archives or expensive disk systems. With a capacity scaled up to 4PB, FlashArray//E enables seamless unified block and file support, extending the capabilities of the Pure//E family.

The advantages of adopting FlashArray//E are substantial. Customers can expect an impressive 80% reduction in power and space usage, along with 60% lower operational costs compared to disk-based solutions. Additionally, FlashArray//E contributes to an 85% decrease in electronic waste, showcasing its environmentally friendly design. This flash storage solution delivers exceptional performance, affordability, and energy efficiency, making it suitable for enterprises of all sizes and protocols.

Ajay Singh, the Chief Product Officer at Pure Storage, expressed his vision for the Pure//E family of products. He emphasized the company’s determination to eliminate mechanical storage in favor of all-flash data centers. The expansion of the Pure//E family with FlashArray//E marks another significant step toward achieving this goal.

Legacy disk solutions have proven to be insufficient in managing the exponential growth of data. Short-term fixes, such as offline archiving, have only added complexity and slowed down business operations. FlashArray//E addresses these challenges by providing a cost-effective alternative to disk storage. It not only reduces data center space requirements but also optimizes power consumption without compromising storage performance.

FlashArray//E offers several notable features and benefits:

1. Disk Economics at Any Scale: FlashArray//E supports capacities as low as 1PB, providing enterprises with a scalable data repository. With a pricing model below $0.20 per GB, customers benefit from affordable storage accompanied by industry-leading energy efficiency, surpassing traditional hard disk drives by a factor of 5x.

2. Flexible Purchasing Models: Customers have the option to deploy FlashArray//E through Pure Storage’s new //UDR service tier, which offers Storage-as-a-Service (STaaS) subscriptions. Alternatively, they can choose Evergreen//Flex, which allows ownership of storage arrays while taking advantage of consumption-based economics.

3. Industry-Leading Flash Drives: FlashArray//E will introduce the industry’s largest 75TB QLC DirectFlash Modules, incorporating built-in non-volatile RAM. Pure Storage’s innovative DirectFlash technology is poised to target 300TB flash modules by 2026, offering unmatched reliability, substantial energy savings, and superior performance compared to competing all-flash arrays.

4. Continuous Innovation with Evergreen® Architecture: Pure Storage’s Evergreen subscription ensures that customers have access to new FlashArray data services without additional costs or disruptions. With monthly releases of enhanced features and capabilities, customers can continuously derive more value from their storage infrastructure.
