Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (EITC), known as du, and Huawei, a prominent global provider of information and communications technology (ICT) infrastructure and smart devices, have collaboratively executed the deployment of the OLT (Optical Line Terminal) Green Intelligent Energy Saving solution. This marks a significant leap in network energy efficiency as part of du’s ongoing commitment to become a Net Zero ICT service provider and foster sustainable development in the region.

The groundbreaking achievement was showcased at the Expo City site, demonstrating a noteworthy 38% average enhancement in OLT energy efficiency. This improvement is poised to reduce du’s carbon footprint by 1020 tons across the entire network annually, equivalent to planting 51033 trees. These efforts align with du’s green energy efficiency initiatives, driving towards its goal of achieving Net Zero emissions by 2030 within its operations.
