OPSWAT, a global critical infrastructure protection (CIP) cybersecurity solutions company, has announced the acquisition of InQuest, a prominent cybersecurity firm known for its advanced Deep File Inspection® and RetroHunting™ technologies. This strategic acquisition is set to significantly enhance OPSWAT’s cybersecurity capabilities, particularly in network detection, threat intelligence, and government market outreach.

InQuest is highly regarded for its robust protection of U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) networks through its cutting-edge network appliances and threat intelligence solutions. OPSWAT’s acquisition of InQuest will accelerate its go-to-market strategy for government clients and bolster its defenses against network-based threats. The merger combines InQuest’s threat intelligence capabilities with OPSWAT’s MetaDefender Cloud and FileScan.io, creating a comprehensive repository that enhances threat detection and response.

Benny Czarny, Founder and CEO of OPSWAT, emphasized the strategic importance of this acquisition, stating, “The integration of InQuest’s technology with OPSWAT’s MetaDefender platform will significantly improve threat intelligence and prevention, supporting public sector organizations and critical sectors in maintaining secure operations.” Czarny also expressed excitement about deepening the long-standing partnership with Michael Arcamone, former CEO of InQuest, who now joins OPSWAT as Chief Strategy Officer and VP of Federal Sales.

Michael Arcamone expressed enthusiasm for the merger, noting, “Joining OPSWAT allows us to leverage their extensive resources to further develop our technologies and deliver enhanced value to our customers.”

Pedram Amini, former CTO of InQuest, will join OPSWAT as Chief Scientist, where he will focus on advancing threat intelligence, machine learning, and email security solutions. Amini’s expertise will drive the integration of InQuest Labs with MetaDefender.com and FileScan.io, empowering global researchers to combat malicious threats more effectively.

This acquisition marks a significant milestone in OPSWAT’s growth as a leading provider of prevention-based cybersecurity solutions. By integrating InQuest’s advanced technologies, OPSWAT continues to strengthen its position in protecting critical infrastructures and enhancing cybersecurity across various sectors.
