Intersec 2025, the world’s premier event focused on security, safety, and fire protection, will explore how technological advancements are reshaping law enforcement and public safety across the Middle East. The inaugural Intersec Policing Conference, set to take place from January 15-16, 2025, at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), will bring together over 50 expert speakers from around the globe to discuss policing best practices and future innovations.

As law enforcement agencies face increasing challenges from cyber threats to financial crimes, the conference will serve as a crucial platform for collaboration and innovation. Key topics will address critical issues and solutions in the ever-evolving landscape of public safety.

A distinguished lineup of thought leaders will participate, including H.E. Major General Pilot Faris Khalaf Al Mazrouei, Commander in Chief of Abu Dhabi Police; Aileen Yap, Assistant Director of the Anti-Scam Command, Singapore Police Force; Ali Ba’Alawi, Chief of the Financial Intelligence Unit at the UAE Financial Intelligence Unit; Nick Court, Assistant Director of IFCACC Strategy and Capability at INTERPOL; and Omar S. Saad, Head of Strategy and Innovation for the Metropolitan Police. These experts will share insights into the future of law enforcement and the role of technology in policing.

Major Mohamed Al Abdulla, Head of the Financial Crimes Division at Bahrain’s Ministry of Interior, emphasized the growing role of data and technology in combatting financial crimes. “AI and robotics will play an increasingly central role in scams, with fraudsters utilizing advanced tools to hide their identities and move stolen funds through cryptocurrencies,” he noted. “Law enforcement is investing in predictive tools to prevent such crimes by integrating the right data and collaborating with relevant entities.”

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is becoming essential in detecting and preventing financial crimes. AI systems can process vast amounts of transaction data to identify anomalies and patterns indicative of fraud. According to PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PwC), AI-driven financial crime programs significantly improve fraud detection, enabling businesses to stay ahead of evolving fraudulent tactics.

Grant Tuchten, Portfolio Director at Intersec organizer Messe Frankfurt Middle East, stated, “As technology evolves, so must the strategies and tools employed by law enforcement. The inaugural Intersec Policing Conference will highlight best practices in policing, offering actionable insights to create safer, smarter cities.”

Conference sessions will cover forward-thinking topics such as policing in the digital era, proactive policing strategies, the future of road safety, strategic automation in policing, drone operations, and quantum-led crime prevention.

Intersec 2025, held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council, will provide a platform for networking, business, and showcasing cutting-edge technology and solutions.

The event will host 1,200 exhibitors from 60 countries, with key participants from the Homeland Security & Policing sector, including Drone and Anti-Drone solutions from AEE Aviation and DJI, advanced video surveillance by Genetec, security solutions from Transguard Group, and aviation security technologies from Garrett, Ceia, Astrophysics, and Rapiscan.
