ADNOC has announced the expansion of its AI training for Emiratis to mark International Youth Day. The ADNOC Technical Academy (ATA) has embedded the advanced AI-powered tool Neuron 5 into its curriculum.

The initiative supports ADNOC’s strategy to become the world’s most AI-enabled energy company by 2030. It aims to equip the next generation of engineers with skills to leverage technologies transforming the energy sector.

Developed in collaboration with AVEVA and AIQ, Neuron 5 monitors critical equipment, predicts faults, and improves operational reliability. The system has been deployed across more than 20% of ADNOC’s critical infrastructure. It has reduced unplanned shutdowns by 50% and cut planned maintenance by 20%.

ADNOC reported that young trainees at ATA are now gaining hands-on experience with Neuron 5. The company emphasized that this training ensures Emirati engineers are ready to contribute to smarter, safer, and more sustainable operations from day one.

  • Over 40,000 ADNOC employees trained on AI fundamentals.
  • First cohort of 150 Emiratis graduated from the AI Accelerator program in 2024.

Dr. Mariam Al Hendi, ADNOC’s Manager of Technical Excellence, revealed that Neuron 5 uses real-time data from thousands of sensors to predict problems before they occur. This approach helps engineers reduce shutdowns and improve efficiency by making proactive decisions in the field.

Since its founding in 1978, ATA has trained more than 6,000 UAE Nationals. Currently, 1,300 trainees are enrolled across campuses in Abu Dhabi and Al Dhanna. ADNOC continues to evolve training programs to align with national development goals and its international growth.

The company reported that AI literacy is becoming a critical driver of success. By integrating Neuron 5 into ATA training, ADNOC is building a workforce that is both job-ready and future-ready.
