Biwin announced that its Amber CB500 CFexpress Type B card has become the world’s first CFexpress Type B card to receive VPG800 certification from the CompactFlash Association. The certification guarantees sustained write speeds of 800 MB/s, enabling professionals to capture 8K RAW, high frame rate, and uncompressed video with stability.

The Biwin Amber CB500 CFexpress 4.0 Type B memory card is designed for filmmakers, cinematographers, and content creators who require consistent performance during long takes. It ensures reliable recording and seamless workflow integration.

Biwin revealed that the Amber CB500 delivers enhanced speed and performance, supporting 4K, 6K, 8K, and 12K RAW high-bitrate video recording. It offers read speeds up to 3750 MB/s and write speeds up to 3500 MB/s. When paired with the Biwin Amber RB510 high-speed card reader, the card enables data transfers of up to 40Gb/s, helping accelerate post-production processes.

The VPG800 standard, defined in the Video Performance Guarantee Profile 5.0, ensures a minimum sustained write speed of 800 MB/s. Biwin reported that the Amber CB500 meets this benchmark, offering reliability for demanding production environments. It supports workflows for 8K and 12K RAW capture, oversampled 4K and 6K recording, live broadcasting, virtual production, and VR or AR systems.

The Biwin Amber CB500 CFexpress Type B card also includes advanced thermal design features. Its aluminum alloy shell and thermal conductive gel maintain stable performance during long recording sessions. The card is built for endurance with protection against extreme temperatures, shocks, drops, impact, wear, magnetic interference, and X-ray exposure.

Available in capacities from 128 GB to 1 TB, the Biwin Amber CB500 is suited for various professional applications such as sports, time-lapse photography, and multi-camera live events.

Biwin confirmed that the Amber CB500 CFexpress 4.0 Type B memory card is now available in select regions.
