Confluent, Inc. (Nasdaq: CFLT), the data AI streaming pioneer, announced Stephen Deasy as its new Chief Technology Officer. He will lead the engineering team’s vision, strategy, and daily execution.

Deasy will focus on advancing Confluent’s data streaming platform. His goal is to power more AI and real-time intelligence at a global scale. His leadership will strengthen Confluent’s core infrastructure. This will help organizations build and deploy real-time use cases such as agentic AI, hyper-personalized customer experiences, and automated operations.

“Stephen brings a wealth of experience scaling engineering teams and building platforms for demanding systems,” said Jay Kreps, co-founder and CEO of Confluent. “With his leadership, we’ll help customers turn data streams into a foundation for AI, smarter decisions, and new real-time applications.”

Deasy has more than 20 years of experience leading engineering at high-growth software companies. He previously led Benchling’s global product and platform teams as CTO. At Atlassian, he managed engineering for Jira, Confluence, Trello, and the cloud platform. He also held leadership roles at VMware, EMC, and Groupon.
