At GITEX Global 2025 in Dubai, TECHx Media spoke with Assad Arabi, Regional Managing Director for Africa, Mediterranean, CIS, and Emerging Markets at Trend Micro, about the latest in cybersecurity, AI integration, and the company’s evolving platform solutions.

Growing Cybersecurity Needs

The increasing interest in cybersecurity, digital transformation, and AI is driving organizations to invest in stronger protections. “Cybersecurity is finally getting the right attention it needs,” Arabi said, emphasizing its critical role alongside AI and sustainability in modern business strategies.

Cybersecurity Landscape in MEA

Arabi shared insights on the cybersecurity challenges across the Middle East and Africa (MEA). “We have detected around 1.35 billion cybersecurity attacks in the MEA region, targeting government, oil and gas, health, and other sectors,” he explained. Trend Micro addresses these challenges through Trend Vision One, a unified platform that integrates all necessary security controls to protect digital assets, users, data, and business operations.

Trend Vision One: AI-Powered Security

At GITEX, Trend Vision One stood out as a key showcase. “The platform evolves every year, and just last month, we launched our agentic SIEM, one of the first AI-based SIEM solutions globally,” Arabi said. Using AI, the system discovers and applies security rules automatically, enabling an autonomous SOC that can manage itself with minimal human intervention.

AI for Security and Security for AI

Trend Micro addresses both sides of AI integration. “We provide tools to secure AI investments while also using AI to enhance security,” Arabi explained. The company offers an AI cybersecurity blueprint with eight checkpoints to safeguard large language models, public AI tools, infrastructure, and data against emerging threats.

Predictive Cybersecurity

With cybercrime costs reaching $10 trillion globally, Trend Micro is moving beyond traditional prevention and detection. “We now protect against attacks before they happen, giving organizations visibility into potential attack paths and data targets,” Arabi said. This predictive approach allows businesses to take preventive measures rather than reacting to incidents.

Securing Cloud-Native Environments

Cloud-native environments pose unique challenges, as traditional tools often fall short. Trend Micro offers a portfolio for cloud workloads, applications, containers, networking, file storage, and configurations. Its cybersecurity exposure management solution identifies vulnerabilities and misconfigurations, assigns risk scores, and helps organizations reduce exposure over time.

Shaping the Future of Cybersecurity

Arabi highlighted Trend Micro’s customer-centric culture and Japanese heritage as differentiators. “We put our customers first and ensure the platform keeps evolving,” he said. Trend Micro consistently leads in Platform, Cloud Security, SOC Operation, endpoint, workload, email, cloud-native application, network, and IoT security, earning recognition from Gartner, Forrester, and IDC.

With AI, predictive cybersecurity, and robust cloud-native strategies, Trend Micro continues to help organizations navigate an evolving threat landscape. “Customers know they can rely on us across all technologies we provide,” Arabi concluded.
