D-Link Corporation has announced the launch of its D-Link DGS-1250 Series Gigabit Smart Managed Switches, designed to meet growing demand for greater network visibility and control without the cost and complexity of fully managed solutions. The new series enables organizations to scale networks confidently while maintaining operational simplicity.

The DGS-1250 Series is positioned between unmanaged switches and advanced Layer 3 platforms. It combines Gigabit performance, enhanced security, and intuitive management. As a result, businesses can modernize network infrastructure with smarter capabilities while keeping deployment efficient and straightforward.

The series supports both PoE and non-PoE models. This allows flexible deployment across different environments. It is suitable for powering wireless access points, IP phones, and IP surveillance systems. Consequently, organizations can build secure and high-performance networks without added complexity or overhead.

To support diverse deployment needs, the lineup includes the DGS-1250-28X, DGS-1250-28XP, DGS-1250-52X, and DGS-1250-52XP. Each model includes four 10G SFP+ fiber uplink ports. These ports enable high-speed backbone connectivity and long-distance transmission. Therefore, the series suits small to medium-sized businesses, branch offices, and campus networks aiming to future-proof infrastructure.

The DGS-1250 Series offers web-based management and comprehensive Layer 2 features such as VLAN, Quality of Service, and link aggregation. It also includes security mechanisms that help protect critical data and maintain stable operations. In addition, integration with the D-Link Nuclias Network Controller supports centralized configuration, monitoring, and device management across multiple sites.

Key features include an intuitive web-based interface for configuring VLANs, Link Aggregation (LACP), QoS, and IGMP Snooping. Security capabilities include 802.1X port-based authentication, Access Control Lists, and Storm Control. Advanced QoS prioritizes latency-sensitive voice and video traffic, while Loopback Detection and IEEE 802.3az Energy Efficient Ethernet improve stability and reduce power consumption.

The switches also provide monitoring tools such as port mirroring, SNMP, and web-based traffic statistics. These tools offer deeper visibility into network performance and health. Furthermore, DHCP Auto Surveillance helps maintain continuous connectivity for IP cameras and other security devices during DHCP server disruptions.

The company stated that the launch reflects its focus on delivering intelligent, secure, and high-performance networking solutions that adapt to evolving business needs. Guided by its brand message, One Connection • Infinite Possibilities, it aims to support organizational growth and innovation. Availability details were not disclosed, but the announcement highlights continued expansion of the D-Link DGS portfolio.
