Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has announced the launch of its official services and digital experience through the ChatGPT Apps Directory. The move marks a new phase in AI-driven government services, with DEWA ChatGPT access enabling users to engage directly through intelligent conversational platforms.

With this development, DEWA has revealed that it is the first government entity and the first utility globally to provide services via AI platforms. As a result, the authority is moving beyond traditional websites and smart applications toward integrated AI-based service delivery.

Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA, said the “AI Integration and Operating Services” initiative represents a key step in reshaping government services for the AI era. He reported that the transition supports a comprehensive service system connected with global AI platforms, allowing direct access through conversational interfaces such as ChatGPT and multi-agent systems.

Moreover, Al Tayer added that launching DEWA services through the ChatGPT Apps Directory strengthens the use of advanced smart solutions. It also supports secure, proactive, and resilient services, while enhancing quality of life and customer experience. In addition, the initiative aligns with Dubai’s ambition to expand AI adoption and sustainable innovation.

Through the ChatGPT platform, customers can now access multiple DEWA services quickly and seamlessly. These include:

  • Bill inquiries, account details, and billing support
  • EV Green Charger locations and directions
  • Customer Happiness Centre locations, working hours, and contact channels

Furthermore, DEWA confirmed that additional services will be rolled out gradually. This expansion will follow the authority’s governance, security, and privacy framework, ensuring safe and reliable AI-enabled service delivery.
