HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), announced that the EV Green Charger network has grown to over 1,860 charging points across Dubai. The expansion includes stations licensed by DEWA in collaboration with government and private sector entities. By mid-January 2026, the initiative had enrolled 23,600 registered users, with DEWA providing more than 55,200 megawatt hours (MWh) of electricity since its 2014 launch, enough to power over 276 million kilometres of electric vehicle travel.

Al Tayer revealed that the expansion aligns with Dubai’s efforts to enhance green mobility infrastructure and supports the UAE Net Zero 2050 Strategy and the Dubai Green Mobility Strategy 2030. He reported that the initiative encourages the use of eco-friendly transport while helping improve air quality and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

DEWA provides four types of chargers: ultra-fast, fast, public, and wall-box. Customers can locate stations through DEWA’s website, smart app, and 14 other digital platforms. Users can also create a ‘Green Charger’ account or use the ‘Guest Mode’ feature, allowing access to charging stations within an hour of vehicle registration.

  • Over 1,860 EV Green charging points are now operational across Dubai.
  • DEWA has delivered more than 55,200 MWh of electricity for electric vehicles.
  • Services are accessible via DEWA website, smart app, and interactive voice service.
