DEWA Launches Roadmap to Become World’s First AI-Native Utility

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has launched a strategic roadmap to become the world’s first AI-native utility, integrating artificial intelligence (AI) across all core operations.

Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA, announced the initiative during GenAI Week, an event focused on exploring the future of AI adoption within the organization.

Driving AI Transformation

GenAI Week, held at DEWA’s headquarters, brought together experts and specialists from DEWA and major AI companies, including Microsoft, IBM, ServiceNow, and DataRobot.

The four-day event featured workshops, panel discussions, and interactive lectures on topics like deep learning, AI neural networks, and automation. These sessions highlighted DEWA’s commitment to embedding AI across its operations and services.

Al Tayer emphasized that this move aligns with the UAE National Strategy for Artificial Intelligence 2031, which aims to position the UAE as a global leader in AI innovation.

“This initiative will keep DEWA at the forefront of digital advancements while unlocking new opportunities for sustainable growth in the energy and water sectors,” said Al Tayer.

  • Rammas at Work – AI-powered services across key divisions like Power & Water Generation, Transmission, Distribution, HR, and Legal Affairs.
  • Khadamatech e-services portal – AI-enhanced systems for IT support, governance, compliance, and security.

These innovations will serve as a foundation for DEWA’s transformation into a fully AI-native utility, reinforcing its role as a pioneer in digital and sustainable growth.
