du, the leading telecom and digital services provider, has partnered with AIHostingHub (AIH Hub for Cloud Service & Datacenter Providers) to announce the successful deployment of the first-ever NVIDIA supercluster in the GCC. Located in Dubai Silicon Oasis (DSO), this groundbreaking project represents a major leap forward in the region’s AI and data center technology landscape.
The supercluster, powered by several thousand advanced NVIDIA GPUs, is housed in Supermicro liquid-cooled racks with a power capacity exceeding 5+ MW. This deployment introduces the region’s first direct-to-chip liquid cooling technology in a high-density cluster, marking a significant milestone in the UAE’s technological advancements.
Fahad Al Hassawi, CEO of du, commented: “The complexity and scale of this implementation highlight our ability to deliver innovative, high-performance solutions that exceed customer expectations. This system is expertly designed to support AIHostingHub in handling mission-critical AI tasks while minimizing environmental impact, making it a vital addition to the UAE’s tech infrastructure.”
The project underscores the potential of direct-to-chip liquid cooling technology to meet the growing demand for data processing. It also aligns with the UAE’s commitment to sustainability and energy efficiency. With a dedicated data hall offering a total capacity of over 5 MW, the project is valued at more than half a billion dirhams.
Mohamed Taha, General Manager at AIHostingHub, said: “Our collaboration with du to host this NVIDIA supercluster at DSO is a pivotal moment for AI technology and data center capabilities in the GCC. By utilizing this sophisticated technology, we ensure optimal performance and energy efficiency, setting new benchmarks for sustainability in the industry.”
This partnership represents a significant step towards enhancing the region’s data center capabilities and AI processing efficiency, setting new standards for high-performance computing and sustainable technology solutions in the UAE.
