H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence of the UAE, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, met with Chief AI Strategy Officers from government entities. The meeting was held on the sidelines of the UAE Government Annual Meetings 2025, taking place from 4 to 6 November in Abu Dhabi, with 500 senior government officials in attendance.

During the meeting, H.H. Sheikh Hamdan announced that Dubai aims to set a global benchmark in using artificial intelligence to enhance government performance and improve quality of life across all sectors. He revealed that the emirate is committed to empowering national talent and harnessing technology to build a better future.

He reported that the directives of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, have made artificial intelligence a key pillar of government advancement. He emphasized that the next phase will accelerate the adoption of advanced technologies to drive innovation and strengthen Dubai’s global competitiveness in the AI field.

The meeting was attended by more than 20 Chief AI Officers, along with H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council; H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum; and Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications.

H.H. Sheikh Hamdan highlighted the UAE’s initiatives to accelerate emerging technology adoption and prepare Dubai for full digital transformation. He expressed confidence in the UAE’s national talent and their ability to lead the country’s transformation toward a more advanced and AI-driven future.

He added that the UAE youth form the foundation of the nation’s success. They are expected to drive AI-based solutions that enhance government efficiency and quality of life. He reaffirmed continued support for national talent in taking leadership roles in AI decision-making.

The meeting also discussed aligning national efforts, strengthening partnerships, and sharing best practices in AI. These efforts aim to position Dubai and the UAE as global leaders in technology-driven innovation, quality of life, and economic growth.

The Chief AI Officers reported on the critical role of AI in improving government operations. They discussed global trends, upcoming challenges, and the importance of technology in creating innovative solutions that boost efficiency and service quality.

  • Candidates were selected based on their expertise in emerging technologies and AI trends.

Initiatives such as the AI Chiefs’ knowledge journey to the US and AI Leadership Training support the We the UAE 2031 vision and the UAE AI Strategy 2031. These initiatives aim to position the nation as a global leader in AI and digital technologies.
