Dubai announced the launch of the new Create Apps Championship. The update was reported as part of the Create Apps in Dubai initiative. The programme is led by the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, which revealed the third edition following the earlier success of Create Apps.

His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum said that Dubai’s position as a digital hub reflects the wider development vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. He added that the emirate continues to focus on nurturing talent, developing solutions, and supporting sustainable growth.

His Highness’s remarks were reported as the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy launched the new edition of the Create Apps Championship. The initiative has attracted more than 5,800 applications across its first two rounds. It has supported the development and launch of over 55 applications. The Create Apps programme continues to empower tech talent and strengthen the digital economy.

His Highness said that Dubai is advancing in innovation and building solutions that support digital transformation. He added that these efforts align with Dubai’s wider goal to position the city as a global capital for the digital economy. He noted that the Create Apps ecosystem empowers talent and encourages creativity while helping deliver the objectives of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33.

His Highness added that Dubai is creating models that attract and support global talent. He said the emirate provides an enabling environment that encourages innovation and reinforces its position as a destination for business and investment.

His Highness emphasised that Dubai is strengthening its position as a global hub for talent. He said this is supported by infrastructure and legal frameworks that improve the business ecosystem. He added that Dubai’s development model encourages collaboration between public and private sectors and supports the future of smart applications, including new Create Apps projects.

His Excellency Omar Sultan Al Olama said that the Create Apps Championship has become a global initiative that recognises innovation. He reported that it attracts talent from around the world and supports Dubai’s role in digital technology development.

His Excellency added that the challenge continues to attract innovators to Dubai’s environment, which keeps pace with rapid digital change. He noted that the digital applications sector is one of the fastest growing areas in the global economy.

This year, Dubai revealed new features for the Create Apps Championship.

• A new Longevity App of the Year award focused on wellbeing and lifestyle
• A new Alumni Accelerator Programme to support high potential teams

The longevity category recognises applications that improve wellbeing through innovation. The accelerator programme will give teams access to business support and aims to help launch 50 more applications in the market.

A new hub will also be established for Create Apps participants. It will offer training, mentorship, expert guidance, and best practices to help teams advance their projects.

The Create Apps Championship includes four categories: Best Youth App, Most Impactful App, Most Innovative App, and Longevity App of the Year.

Dubai announced that the competition will offer funding support worth more than AED2.5 million. Three category winners will each receive more than AED550,000. The fourth winner, selected through public voting as the App of the Year, will receive AED1 million.

Registrations for the Create Apps Championship are now open.
