Dubai Future Foundation announced the release of a new report titled Global Solutions and Shared Futures. The publication was revealed as a special edition of its annual foresight study, The Global 50 Report. The report highlights 14 selected global opportunities that can be translated into practical, real-world solutions to support humanity’s shared future.

According to the announcement, the opportunities were selected from more than 200 future opportunities explored across The Global 50 reports published between 2022 and 2025. The special edition aims to identify pathways for global cooperation and future design. It integrates human imagination, scientific insight, data-driven analysis, and applied solutions.

The report was developed in collaboration with experts, researchers, and innovators from the UAE and other countries. Participants shared insights on enabling conditions, core principles, and indicative timelines required to turn each opportunity into reality.

Commenting on the release, Dubai Future Foundation CEO Khalfan Belhoul said the Global Solutions and Shared Futures report reflects a collaborative global effort. He noted that international partnerships are increasingly important for developing future-ready solutions. He added that addressing current and emerging challenges requires cooperation among countries, institutions, and societies to translate opportunities into tangible outcomes for future generations.

Belhoul also said the foundation continues to collaborate with global experts in foresight and future design. He reported that Dubai serves as a platform for activating future opportunities and supporting international cooperation. The objective, he said, is to build common ground around global solutions that strengthen communities and support long-term human wellbeing.

The report revealed that the 14 opportunities collectively address 10 megatrends shaping the future. These include the materials revolution, multidimensional data, technological vulnerabilities, energy boundaries, evolving ecosystems, fluid global economies, digital realities, autonomous robots and automation, future humanity, and advanced health and nutrition.

The opportunities presented in the report include:

  • Developing unified global goals to protect outer space as a shared resource
  • Creating a global equity fund to address long-term global challenges
  • Establishing international frameworks for genetic governance

In addition, the report examines future pathways such as achieving climate neutrality, enabling global business licensing for small enterprises, expanding satellite internet access, developing public-interest artificial intelligence frameworks, rethinking happiness and quality-of-life metrics, embedding foresight into diplomacy, and creating trusted platforms for shared data.

Contributors to Global Solutions and Shared Futures include experts from academia, international organizations, research institutions, and the private sector. The report, according to Dubai Future Foundation, is intended to support technology-driven cooperation and shared global action in the years ahead.
