Dubai RTA Roads and Transport Authority announced the launch of its ‘Tadreeb’ digital platform, aimed at qualifying and training new drivers as part of its ongoing digital transformation drive. The platform links all driving institutes across Dubai, fully digitises training processes, automates assessments, and consolidates trainee data.

Ahmed Mahboob, CEO of RTA’s Licensing Agency, revealed that the platform identifies trainee needs through analysed data, ensuring quality training and licensing a pool of skilled drivers. He added that it contributes to the highest safety standards, enhances performance quality, and strengthens governance in line with global best practices.

The platform utilises the latest artificial intelligence technologies to train drivers across more than 27 institute locations. It is supported by over 3,400 instructors and more than 3,000 training vehicles, each electronically geo-tracked and linked to the main system. Serving around 250,000 trainees annually, with over six million training hours per year, Tadreeb has provided a safe, seamless, and fully paperless user experience.

Key outcomes of the platform include improved training quality, enhanced transparency in trainee assessments, and measurable contributions to reducing road fatalities among new drivers. It also supports decision-making through smart dashboards, automates performance evaluations, and streamlines training permits and contracts with relevant authorities, halving waiting times and reducing operating costs.

RTA reported that the platform has achieved 97% compliance by trainers with prescribed training stages. Tadreeb is the first unified platform recognised by the International Commission for Driver Testing (CIECA) and has won the Prince Michael International Road Safety Award.

The initiative aims to further harness AI to enhance the customer journey, personalise training using data, and automate training oversight and governance, ensuring sustainable development for the next generation of drivers.
