The Economic Security Center of Dubai (ESCD) announced the launch of a national awareness campaign to combat economic fraud under the slogan “Strong Economy… An Aware Society.”

The initiative focuses on strengthening economic security by equipping individuals, businesses, and institutions with knowledge, tools, and vigilance to counter fraud in an increasingly digital environment. Moreover, the campaign responds to the rapid evolution of fraudulent methods driven by advanced technologies.

According to the ESCD, fraudulent activities have become more sophisticated with the use of artificial intelligence, deepfake technology, and deceptive online schemes. As a result, public awareness has been positioned as a primary line of defence to protect Dubai’s economic growth and sustain confidence in its business ecosystem. The campaign also supports the Dubai Government’s broader vision of building a resilient, secure, and sustainable economy.

The awareness drive revealed several common and high-risk fraud practices currently affecting individuals and companies, including:

• Misleading commercial advertisements and deepfake manipulation
• Online marketplace risks, phishing emails, SMS scams, and fake links
• Fraudulent investment schemes, cryptocurrency manipulation, and deceptive business deals

His Excellency Faisal bin Sulaitin, CEO of the Economic Security Center of Dubai, reported that economic fraud is no longer predictable and continues to evolve by exploiting modern technologies. He noted that strengthening economic security requires collective responsibility and continuous awareness across society.

Furthermore, the ESCD called on community members to participate by sharing awareness messages and experiences using the hashtags #StayAware and #TogetherWeProtectOurEconomy. Through public engagement, the campaign aims to create a unified defence against fraud and reinforce trust in the national economy.

With this initiative, the Economic Security Center of Dubai reaffirmed Dubai’s position as a secure and future-ready financial hub, supported by informed communities and robust economic security measures.
