ENOC Group and Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) have signed a trial agreement to advance the Dubai Green Mobility Strategy 2030 and support the UAE’s green hydrogen economy. This collaboration builds on ENOC Group’s successful commissioning of its green hydrogen station at Expo City Dubai during COP28, marking a significant step in the UAE’s transition to clean energy solutions.
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed at ENOC Group Headquarters by Burhan Al Hashemi, Managing Director, ENOC Commercial and International Sales, and Ahmed Hashem Bahrozyan, CEO of The Public Transport Agency (PTA) at RTA, in the presence of His Excellency Saif Humaid Al Falasi, Group CEO of ENOC. The agreement focuses on studying and developing the feasibility of green hydrogen-powered mobility solutions in Dubai. Under this initiative, ENOC Group will supply green hydrogen fuel to RTA’s hydrogen-powered city buses while providing technical support and refueling data to assist in a comprehensive feasibility study. Both organizations are committed to maintaining the highest safety and operational standards throughout the project.
His Excellency Saif Humaid Al Falasi, Group CEO, ENOC, emphasized the importance of this collaboration in advancing clean energy initiatives, stating that ENOC is committed to building a sustainable future in line with the Dubai Green Mobility Strategy 2030. He highlighted that green hydrogen is a viable alternative to conventional energy sources and that ENOC is at the forefront of its adoption as the UAE strengthens its hydrogen economy.
Ahmed Bahrozyan, CEO of the Public Transport Agency at RTA, praised the agreement as a significant step in promoting green hydrogen across RTA’s transportation network, including public buses and marine transport. He emphasized that this initiative aligns with the UAE’s green economy goals and supports environmental sustainability efforts, which positively impact public health and well-being.
Green hydrogen is produced through the electrolysis of water using renewable electricity from sources such as solar and wind, generating zero carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. This clean energy solution helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions, diversify energy sources, and increase vehicle driving ranges, making it one of the most efficient alternatives for sustainable mobility. ENOC Group sources green hydrogen from the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park in collaboration with DEWA, reinforcing Dubai’s commitment to clean energy solutions and positioning the emirate as a leader in sustainable transportation.
This partnership between ENOC Group and RTA is a key milestone in the UAE’s clean energy transition, driving the adoption of green hydrogen in public transportation and contributing to a greener, more sustainable future.
