ENOC Group has announced the successful conclusion of a high-level strategic visit to Djibouti and Ethiopia by Hussain Sultan Lootah, Acting CEO of ENOC Group and Chairman of the Horizon Djibouti Terminals Limited (HDTL) Board.

The visit highlighted ENOC Group’s commitment to advancing critical energy infrastructure projects across East Africa. It also reinforced the company’s focus on international collaboration, sustainable regional development, and social impact, according to ENOC Group.

During the visit to Djibouti, Hussain Sultan Lootah met with His Excellency Ismail Omar Guelleh, President of Djibouti. He commended the country’s rapid infrastructure development. Discussions focused on accelerating the expansion of critical storage infrastructure.

He was accompanied by senior executives, including Fahad Askar, CEO of Horizon Terminals Limited (HTL), and Omar Kassou, General Manager of Horizon Djibouti Terminals Limited (HDTL), ENOC Group revealed.

In addition, the Acting CEO held meetings with His Excellency Dr Yonis Ali Guedi, Minister of Energy of Djibouti, and other senior government officials. During these discussions, ENOC Group reaffirmed its support for Djibouti’s economic growth through HDTL, aligning with national priorities. Talks also covered high-value projects, including increasing storage capacity and developing energy sector infrastructure.

Meanwhile, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, Hussain Sultan Lootah met with senior regional stakeholders. These included the Minister of Energy of Djibouti, the Minister of Finance of Ethiopia, the Chairman of the Ethiopian Petroleum Supply Enterprise (EPSE) Board, the President of Ethiopian Investment Holdings (EIH), EPSE management, and the CEO of Ethio-Djibouti Railways (EDR).

A key outcome of the meeting was the establishment of a dedicated task force. Stakeholders also adopted a mechanism for rate determination. It was agreed that the task force would meet regularly, ENOC Group reported.

Commenting on the visit, Hussain Sultan Lootah said ENOC Group and Horizon Djibouti Terminals Limited are leveraging their established expertise in terminal operations across East Africa. He noted that the discussions focused on strengthening regional logistics, enhancing fuel storage capabilities, and supporting economic growth.

He added that these engagements reflect ENOC Group’s growing role in driving social impact and sustainable development at a global level.

In addition, an ENOC delegation visited the AMG Holding plant at the invitation of the CEO of Ethio-Djibouti Railways. The visit provided insights into rail-connected facility operations relevant to HDTL’s rail loading project.
