Ericsson & Ooredoo Qatar Forge 5G Partnership

Ericsson (NASDAQ: ERIC) and Ooredoo Qatar have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to accelerate digital transformation for enterprises and public sector organizations in Qatar. The partnership focuses on developing industry-specific 5G solutions, leveraging Ericsson Private 5G to enhance connectivity and enable mission-critical applications.

The collaboration will drive private and dedicated 5G network solutions for key verticals, including manufacturing, airports, and the oil and gas sector. Ericsson Private 5G ensures secure, high-speed, and reliable connectivity through its dual-mode core and industry-leading radio portfolio. Additionally, bespoke solutions will support public safety, digital airspace, and rail networks, delivering mission-critical performance through enhanced network availability, multi-network operation, and prioritized Quality of Service (QoS).

A key aspect of the MoU is exploring sustainability initiatives, where 5G technology will play a role in reducing environmental impact and decarbonizing industries. Through joint discussions, knowledge-sharing, and best practices, Ericsson and Ooredoo will work towards achieving Net Zero goals while advancing 5G-enabled sustainability solutions.

Under the agreement, Ericsson will provide Ooredoo with mission-critical network solutions, introduce ecosystem partners, and offer global references and use cases. This collaboration will enable Ooredoo Qatar to accelerate time-to-market, unlock new revenue streams, and meet evolving enterprise connectivity demands, driving sustainable digital growth in the region.
