GITEX GLOBAL announced the launch of Ai Everything Middle East & Africa Egypt with an exclusive event at Cairo’s Sultan Hussein Kamel Palace. Hosted by Egypt’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) in partnership with the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA), the event marked a major milestone ahead of the AI tech week set for 11–12 February 2026.

The invite-only launch brought together senior government officials, global tech executives, AI innovators, and startup ecosystem leaders. The discussions highlighted Egypt’s ambition to unlock $42.7 billion in annual AI value by 2030 and position Cairo as a regional hub for AI collaboration.

Eng. Ahmed El-Zaher, CEO of ITIDA, stated, “AI is no longer a trend; it drives economic and societal transformation. Hosting Ai Everything MEA Egypt strengthens our position as a regional innovation hub and trusted global partner in the AI era.”

Trixie LohMirmand, EVP of Dubai World Trade Centre and CEO of KAOUN International, added, “The show empowers stakeholders across the public and private sectors, as well as youth and startups, to co-create the AI future in Egypt.”

H.E. Dr. Amr Talaat, Egypt’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology, reported that Egypt has advanced 46 places in the global AI Readiness Index. He emphasized the National AI Strategy 2025–30, which focuses on expanding startup access, AI-powered sectoral growth, robust data governance, digital skills, public awareness, and a supportive regulatory framework.

The evening concluded with a panel discussion on “Egypt’s AI Future,” featuring leaders from IBM, HPE, Deloitte Innovation Hub, WideBot AI, Intella, and Plug & Play Tech Centre. They explored opportunities for scaling startups, strengthening public–private partnerships, and raising Egypt’s global AI competitiveness.

Marwa Abbas, GM of IBM Northeast Africa, highlighted IBM watsonx and hybrid cloud solutions supporting digital transformation in Egypt. Mohamed Wasfy, HPE Country Manager, showcased energy-efficient AI systems, while Ahmed Salem, Deloitte Innovation Hub COO, discussed AI platforms and hyperscaler partnerships. CEOs of WideBot AI and Intella shared insights on LLM innovation and startup funding success.

Ai Everything MEA Egypt 2026 will bring together AI enterprises, startups, investors, and policymakers from 60 countries at the NCIEC in Cairo. The event will feature international AI experts and showcases in AI, semiconductors, cybersecurity, digital health, fintech, and more, while promoting global tech partnerships and investment.
