Google Gemini AI Chrome is taking a bigger role in the company’s browser strategy as Google brings more of its Gemini-powered features to Chrome. The move reflects the company’s push to place its latest artificial intelligence tools at the center of the user experience.

The new update introduces several Gemini-powered tools. These include the image generation feature Nano Banana, the “Personal Intelligence” system, and “Auto Browse,” an agentic AI tool. Auto Browse allows users to command the browser to complete tasks across the web using a single prompt.

In addition, Google is rolling out a redesigned Chrome interface. The update adds a panel on the right side of the browser. This panel keeps the Gemini chatbot available while users browse different websites. As a result, users can access AI assistance without switching tabs.

According to Parisa Tabriz, Vice President of Chrome, early testers have already seen major productivity benefits. In a blog post, she said users have relied on the tools for scheduling appointments, filling online forms, collecting tax documents, and requesting service quotes. They have also used them to check bills, file expense reports, manage subscriptions, and renew driving licenses. She noted that these features save a significant amount of time.

Meanwhile, the update highlights Google’s focus on personalization. Earlier this month, the company launched the “Personal Intelligence” feature in the Gemini app. This tool connects data from services such as Gmail and Google Photos. It then provides more customized responses through the Gemini chatbot.

Furthermore, the Chrome enhancements align with Google’s broader artificial intelligence strategy. The company is working toward the vision outlined by Google DeepMind CEO Demis Hassabis. He has described the goal as creating a “universal assistant” that can plan and perform actions across devices on behalf of users.

Overall, the latest update shows how Google is strengthening the role of AI in everyday browsing. By embedding advanced tools directly into its browser, the company aims to make online tasks faster and more intuitive. With these changes, Google Gemini AI Chrome is positioned as a central part of Google’s long-term plan to deliver personalized and automated digital assistance.
