Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) has introduced the UAE’s first managed data center offering liquid cooling technology for artificial intelligence (AI). This innovative service is part of the UAE’s ongoing effort to advance its national AI strategy. Located in Abu Dhabi, the facility is designed for high-performance computing (HPC) and AI applications. It provides end-to-end solutions, including compute, accelerated computing, software, networking, and cutting-edge liquid cooling technology.

The liquid cooling system used in the data center enhances energy efficiency by 20.7% compared to traditional air-cooling methods. Additionally, this cooling technology reduces space requirements by up to 77.5%, offering more efficient use of resources. HPE’s investment in the facility helps address the growing power demands in the UAE, which are expected to increase significantly by 2026. According to the International Energy Agency, energy consumption is projected to rise tenfold by 2026.

HPE offers flexible scaling options through its HPE GreenLake platform, allowing customers to adjust services and costs monthly. This scalability makes it easier for businesses to meet their evolving computing needs while optimizing their budgets. HPE’s Managing Director for Emirates and Africa, Ahmad Alkhallafi, explained that the new data center makes high-performance computing widely accessible for AI and other intensive workloads. It also helps organizations accelerate their AI adoption while achieving environmental sustainability goals.

Khazna Data Centers CEO, Hassan Alnaqbi, emphasized the data center’s role in driving technological advancements across multiple sectors. These include energy, finance, healthcare, and manufacturing, all of which benefit from AI-driven solutions. The facility also promotes IT sustainability, reducing environmental impact and resource consumption. HPE’s expertise in liquid cooling is well-established, with the company responsible for 70% of the world’s top energy-efficient systems, according to the Green500 list.

The new UAE data center aligns with the UAE government’s commitment to reducing emissions. It supports the country’s push towards a more sustainable, low-carbon economy.
