Huawei has announced a new smartwatch application developed in collaboration with Anghami, the music streaming platform in the Middle East and North Africa.

The new app is designed for the HUAWEI WATCH 5 and powered by HarmonyOS 5. It offers users a smarter, more accessible way to enjoy music directly from their wrist. The announcement follows the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Huawei and Anghami at HDC 2025 in China.

Huawei revealed that the Anghami Smartwatch App allows users to browse playlists, stream music, and control playback with a few taps. The interface is intuitive and designed for ease of use while on the go.

Choucri Khairallah, Chief Business Officer at Anghami, stated that this integration brings curated content and personalized playlists even closer to users through Huawei wearables.

Huawei reported that its partnership with Anghami began in 2020 with the integration of Huawei Mobile Services (HMS). It has since led to several joint projects, including deeper ecosystem integration via HUAWEI AppGallery.

The new app leverages HarmonyOS 5’s improved user experience and performance capabilities. Huawei confirmed that the Anghami Smartwatch App will also roll out to other models, including the HUAWEI WATCH GT 5 and GT 4.

The collaboration also includes extending Anghami’s streaming service to Huawei’s in-car entertainment systems through HMS for Car.

William Hu, Managing Director of Huawei Consumer Business Group for Middle East and Africa Eco-Development and Operation, said the initiative reflects Huawei’s commitment to smart lifestyle integration.

Key highlights:

  • The app supports real-time music access and regional content curation.
  • Users can now stream music directly from the HUAWEI WATCH 5.
  • Additional support for more smartwatch models is planned.

Huawei confirmed that the Anghami Smartwatch App is now available for download and will continue to expand across its wearable ecosystem in the region.
