It was thrilling to see so many companies showcasing their innovations at Gitex 2022, which aided the cause of digital transformation. Huawei, one of the largest ICT companies, also demonstrated its tech products and services as a diamond sponsor with a significant presence in datacom, optical, IT, cloud, etc. at the largest tech exhibition in the region. The tech giant was once again at the forefront, with the theme “Unleash Digital.”

The company firmly believes that if the green agenda is to advance in all specters of industries then the way for it is continuous technological innovation to help all industries enhance ICT infrastructure energy efficiency and achieve low-carbon development.

Huawei also hosted a series of conferences and participated in several keynotes and panels which engrossed sectors like smart cities, Oil & gas, Electricity, etc.

Getting into Deals and Agreements

GITEX GLOBAL is also an event where various companies and entities of government get together to strengthen their partnerships or to explore new avenues of business whether it is digitizing or expanding. Huawei also managed to get several partnerships and deals signed in the event, increasing its stronghold and presence in the MEA region.

HUAWEI CONNECT 2022 DUBAI

The company hosted ‘HUAWEI CONNECT 2022 DUBAI’ during the first 2 days of the Gitex Technology Week 2022.

The event was inaugurated by Steven Yi, president of Huawei Middle East and Africa, who outlined three important initiatives Huawei, its clients, and partners are pursuing to unlock digital productivity. Together, they aim to strengthen local digital ecosystems and lay a strong digital foundation for everyone in order to support the development of digital nations.

Ken Hu, Huawei’s Rotating Chairman, delivered a keynote outlining three ways the ICT ecosystem can help break through common barriers in digital transformation:

  • Boost digital infrastructure, including more robust connectivity and stronger, more diverse computing resources.
  • Help organizations go beyond simple cloud adoption and truly make the most of the cloud, focusing on advanced technology services that drive leapfrog development.
  • Build out local digital ecosystems including partner development, strengthening the digital talent pool, and providing more support for SMEs.

An example of digital transformation seen was when Huawei partnered with Galaxy Backbone Limited, a Nigeria-based company, where both companies made a unified e-government cloud network, expediting the government’s digitization, and fostering the nation’s digital economy.

Huawei unveiled NetEngine AR5710 and NetEngine 8000 F8 which are a hyper-converged gateway that is ideal for small and midsize branches and an ultra-compact universal-service aggregation router respectively. these brand-new products are assisting in establishing a strong data foundation to further unleash digital productivity.

Huawei also launched the Huawei Empower Program, which aims to help develop a thriving digital ecosystem for global partners. Through the aid of this programme, Huawei will collaborate with its partners to innovate jointly through OpenLabs, provide partners with access to a new framework, a new strategy, and an integrated platform, and create a talent pool through the Huawei ICT Academy and Huawei Authorized Learning Partner (HALP) programmes.
