The Islamic Affairs & Charitable Activities Department (IACAD) has announced a strategic partnership with Parkin Company PJSC, the provider of paid public parking services in Dubai.

The agreement will see Parkin operate and manage approximately 2,100 parking spaces across 59 mosque sites in Dubai, under the first phase of a revenue-sharing model.

IACAD revealed that the initiative aims to improve access to mosques and ensure efficient use of parking during prayer times. Worshippers will be offered one hour of free parking during prayer hours.

The partnership will expand Parkin’s total private parking portfolio to around 20,800 spaces. Operational rollout is scheduled to begin in August 2025.

IACAD confirmed that this is the first collaboration of its kind between the Department and Parkin. It reflects efforts to enhance religious services through smart and accessible mobility solutions.

These mosque parking zones will be categorized as Zone M (standard) and Zone MP (premium). Outside of prayer times, parking in these zones will be chargeable 24/7.

  • 41 sites will fall under Zone M
  • 18 sites will be designated Zone MP

H.E. Ahmed Darwish Al Muhairi, Director General of IACAD, stated that this agreement strengthens cooperation between government and semi-government sectors. He emphasized that it improves worshipper experience and supports Dubai’s smart mobility goals.

Eng. Mohamed Abdulla Al Ali, CEO of Parkin, noted that the initiative will reduce misuse of mosque parking and prioritize community needs. He added that implementation is on track for August.

Mohammed Musbeh Dhahi, Executive Director of Charitable Work Sector at IACAD, highlighted that the partnership also enhances supervision and readiness of mosque facilities.

The collaboration is aligned with Dubai’s commitment to proactive, smart, and inclusive infrastructure solutions.
