Lenovo announced the launch of Lenovo TruScale Device as a Service (DaaS) for Sustainability, a modular solution designed to help enterprises meet sustainability goals while modernizing IT. The solution aims to reduce carbon footprints, extend device life, and promote a circular economy. Lenovo supports this with over 15 years of asset recovery experience and more than 1 million responsibly retired devices.

The TruScale DaaS offering has reportedly delivered up to 35% reductions in device-related IT costs, without the need for upfront capital or complex procurement. Research shows that 62% of organizations invest in sustainability for cost savings, emphasizing the financial and environmental benefits of Lenovo’s new solution.

TruScale DaaS for Sustainability is part of Lenovo’s proven platform that manages millions of devices worldwide. This model unifies devices, services, and financing into one scalable subscription. It supports sustainable IT strategies with measurable ROI in weeks.

The solution includes:

  • Carbon Impact Portal for real-time ESG reporting
  • Certified Refurbished Devices to lower refresh costs and carbon footprint
  • CO₂ Offset Services to compensate lifecycle emissions
  • Asset Recovery Services for secure device decommissioning

According to McKinsey, up to 60% of end-user device emissions can be reduced by extending device lifespans and sourcing fewer devices. Lenovo’s solution supports these strategies through modular options that extend device life and offset emissions.

Reported benefits include:

  • 57% of DaaS adopters see lower cost-per-seat
  • Lenovo customers experience a 20% reduction in total cost of ownership
  • IT maintenance savings range from 10 to 40%

All Lenovo commercial laptops and desktops are 100% ENERGY STAR® certified, with 98% of monitors also certified.

Coventry University Group replaced its aging IT estate with Lenovo TruScale DaaS. They offset 223 tons of CO₂ through Lenovo’s CO2 Offset Services. This change saved 40 hours per week in IT labor and improved service support across global faculty networks. Ian Dunn, Provost at Coventry University Group, said the solution provides scalability, flexibility, and helps meet carbon reduction goals.
