Masdar City Free Zone (MCFZ), Abu Dhabi’s hub for technology and sustainability, announced the opening of its first representative office in China. This move strengthens Abu Dhabi’s position as a global center for innovation and sustainable growth.

In collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO), Masdar City signed key Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) during a high-profile roadshow in Suzhou and Beijing. These agreements aim to boost economic, technological, and sustainability ties between the UAE and China, supporting the UAE’s Falcon Economy vision.

Home to over 2,000 companies from more than 90 countries, Masdar City Free Zone is a recognized hub for clean technology, innovation, and high-impact sectors such as artificial intelligence, life sciences, smart mobility, agritech, and space technology. The China expansion is designed to attract foreign investment, accelerate technology transfer, and create collaboration opportunities between two leading innovation centers.

The Suzhou Industrial Park (SIP), a major Chinese innovation hub, will collaborate with Masdar City to promote investment, trade, and sustainable technology initiatives. Suzhou Yingdi Consultants Co. Ltd will manage the new representative office, assisting Chinese businesses in entering the UAE market.

Beijing Zhongguancun Science City Innovation Development Co., Ltd, a premier high-tech ecosystem, will partner with Masdar City to support Chinese startups, streamline UAE business setup, and foster entrepreneurship, networking, and joint marketing.

Dr. Mohamed Al Breiki, Executive Director, Free Zone and Sustainable Development at Masdar City, said: “This expansion connects global innovation ecosystems and strengthens ties between Abu Dhabi and leading technology hubs. It creates pathways for technology exchange, investment, and sustainable growth benefiting both nations.”

Together, these initiatives position Masdar City as a gateway for Chinese innovation into the Middle East while providing UAE-based companies access to China’s dynamic technology and industrial hubs.
