Microsoft Technology Center Launches at Dubai Internet City

Microsoft has inaugurated its newest Technology Center at Dubai Internet City (DIC), underscoring the Gulf region’s advancement in technology. The facility, part of a global network of ten centers worldwide, is designed to cater to diverse business needs with advanced infrastructure and specialized services.

Situated within DIC, the Microsoft Technology Center (MTC) replicates customer environments with over 45 servers, 75 processors, extensive workstations, and a robust Storage Area Network exceeding 2TB. This setup facilitates Envision & Strategy Briefings, Architectural Design Sessions, and Proof of Concept Workshops, crucial for aligning IT solutions with business strategies.

According to Haider Saloum, Marketing Manager, South Gulf, the MTC will empower businesses by providing insights into transformative technologies. “This center highlights Microsoft’s commitment to the Gulf region and fosters innovation among ICT companies,” noted Ahmed Bin Byat, Director General of Dubai Technology and Media Free Zone.

The facility includes specialized rooms such as an envisioning room, briefing room, and two proofs of concept rooms, ensuring secure engagements. Dr. Omar bin Sulaiman, Director General of Dubai International Financial Center, highlighted the center’s role in enhancing business development through tailored solutions.

Fujitsu Siemens, APC, and Avocent have collaborated in equipping the center with essential hardware, server infrastructure, and networking capabilities. This partnership underscores DIC’s status as a hub for technological innovation.

The launch of the Microsoft Technology Center at DIC reaffirms Dubai’s position as a global technology hub, offering businesses a dedicated space to innovate and leverage advanced solutions for growth.
