NTT DATA, digital business and technology services, has announced its membership in the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD).

The company revealed it will contribute to several key WBCSD initiatives. These include climate action, nature conservation, and circular economy frameworks. NTT DATA aims to leverage its expertise in digital engineering, AI, and data analytics to support sustainable innovation.

As part of the Climate Action Working Group, NTT DATA will help develop solutions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. It also plans to support climate resilience and assist other members in accelerating their net-zero transitions.

In the Nature Action Working Group, the company will apply digital tools to protect ecosystems, promote sustainable resource management, and restore biodiversity.

NTT DATA will also take part in the Circularity Product and Material Working Group. It will contribute to the Global Circularity Protocol and promote circular economy principles in product design, material use, and supply chains.

Joe Phelan, Executive Director for Asia Pacific at WBCSD, welcomed the announcement. He stated that NTT DATA’s leadership in technology and sustainability aligns with WBCSD’s mission to drive systems transformation toward a net-zero, nature-positive, and equitable future.

The company’s membership highlights its ongoing commitment to sustainability at scale.
