Pure Storage® (NYSE:PSTG), a provider of advanced data storage technology, partnered with Dimensional Research to release a significant report on the rapid adoption of cloud-native platforms, accelerating application delivery and fostering enterprise innovation.

The report, titled “The Voice of Kubernetes Experts Report 2024: Data Trends Driving Enterprise Futures,” highlights key trends in the cloud-native landscape, including the shift towards modern virtualization, cloud-native databases, AI/ML adoption via Kubernetes, and the emergence of platform engineering as pivotal for scalability.

Key Survey Findings:

– Cloud-Native Dominance: 80% of respondents plan to develop all or most new applications in cloud-native platforms within the next five years, leveraging hybrid cloud flexibility, with 86% operating across public and private clouds.

– VM Migration Momentum: Over half (58%) of organizations intend to migrate some VM workloads to Kubernetes, with 65% targeting migration within the next two years.

– Data-Driven Acceleration: Virtually all (98%) respondents utilize cloud-native platforms for data-intensive workloads, encompassing databases (72%), analytics (67%), and AI/ML applications (54%).

– Critical Role of Platform Engineering: 96% have established platform engineering teams to enhance application scalability and flexibility, with investments in training (63%), consultants (60%), and skilled engineers (52%).
