Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. announced the launch of its new Dragonwing Q-6690 processor, the world’s first enterprise mobile processor with fully integrated UHF RFID capabilities. The processor also features built-in 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, and ultra-wideband, supporting proximity-aware experiences and global connectivity.

Designed for a wide range of devices, from rugged handhelds to retail kiosks, the Dragonwing Q-6690 offers OEMs and ODMs a scalable, upgrade-ready platform. Software-configurable feature packs allow upgrades over the air without hardware redesign, extending product lifecycles and accelerating time to market.

“The Dragonwing Q-6690 combines integrated RFID, AI, and next-gen wireless in a single platform,” said Art Miller, VP and head of retail at Qualcomm. “It is designed to accelerate innovation in retail, logistics, and manufacturing.”

Partners praised the new processor. Hervé D’Halluin from Decathlon noted it enhances operational efficiency, smarter in-store experiences, and product traceability. Fabio Napol of EssilorLuxottica highlighted its potential to enable consumer-centric, personalized engagement. Aileen Ryan from the RAIN Alliance reported it can democratize IoT, improve productivity, and support digital product passports.
