Tenable has announced Tenable Hexa AI, the agentic AI engine of its Tenable One. Tenable Hexa aims to automate security workflows and turn exposure intelligence into coordinated action to reduce cyber risk.

AI-powered cyberattacks, rapid vulnerability discovery, and the rise of AI-driven tools are expanding the attack surface. As a result, security teams are struggling to keep up. At the same time, operations now involve humans, automation, and AI agents working across fragmented systems. Consequently, coordination has become more complex, leaving teams in a reactive cycle instead of reducing exposure systematically.

However, Tenable Hexa AI acts as an orchestration engine within the Tenable One platform. It transforms exposure intelligence into coordinated action. Powered by Tenable’s Exposure Data Fabric, it delivers contextualized exposure data and insights. Moreover, it understands how vulnerabilities, identities, assets, configurations, and AI systems interact across modern environments.

This contextual understanding allows the system to prioritize risks effectively. It also validates the real state of environments and orchestrates actions to minimize exposures. As a result, organizations can move from reactive responses to consistent, machine-speed risk reduction.

“There has never been a greater need for an agentic system that preemptively fixes issues before exploitation,” said Eric Doerr, Chief Product Officer at Tenable. He added that Tenable Hexa AI combines orchestration with contextual data to automate complex tasks and neutralize exposures.

Meanwhile, Tarek Houni, Head of Exposure Management at a French-based manufacturing company, highlighted efficiency gains. He noted that the solution helped reclaim two days per month on asset tagging. Therefore, teams can focus more on investigating exposures and reducing risk.

As AI adoption and hyper-connected systems grow, organizations require new approaches to cybersecurity. The Tenable One platform enables teams to identify, prioritize, and act on exposures across IT, cloud, identity, OT, and AI environments.

In addition, Tenable Hexa AI introduces several key capabilities. Its agentic orchestration engine coordinates multi-step workflows at machine speed. It also enables workflow automation across the attack surface, including IT, cloud, identity, OT, and AI environments. Furthermore, custom agents can be tailored to specific organizational needs while supporting human-in-the-loop practices. Out-of-the-box agents also execute repeatable workflows such as asset management, reporting, and operational checks.

Currently, Tenable Hexa AI is available through a private customer and partner program. General availability is expected later this year. The company will also showcase the solution at RSA Conference 2026.

In conclusion, Tenable Hexa is positioned to help organizations automate security operations and reduce cyber risk through coordinated, AI-driven action.
