Toshiba Electronics Europe GmbH has announced the launch of the S300 AI, a new generation of surveillance hard disk drives (HDDs) designed for AI-driven video applications.

The company revealed that the S300 AI is purpose-built for high-resolution video capture, analysis, and storage. It offers higher capacities, enhanced performance, and enterprise-grade durability to meet the growing demands of AI surveillance workloads.

Available in capacities from 8 TB to 24 TB, the S300 AI supports large-scale, continuous recording and data retention. It is suitable for AI video analytics servers, centralized surveillance storage systems, video archive infrastructure, and multi-bay RAID setups.

This combination of scale, speed, and endurance makes the S300 AI ideal for processing vast volumes of video and analytical data generated by AI-enabled surveillance systems.

Larry Martinez-Palomo, Vice President and Head of the Storage Products Division at Toshiba Electronics Europe GmbH, said the surveillance market is evolving rapidly, with AI analytics driving new requirements for storage performance and reliability. He added that Toshiba continues to expand its HDD range to meet these needs by delivering higher capacities and enhanced performance.

• Optimized for AI workloads with faster random access for real-time analytics
• Supports up to 64 high-resolution camera streams and 32 AI streams for scalability
• Rated for 550 TB annual workload and 2.5 million hours mean time to failure

The S300 AI is suitable for commercial and infrastructure sectors such as transportation, manufacturing, smart cities, healthcare, finance, and logistics. Toshiba backs the drives with a five-year limited warranty, reinforcing their reliability for 24/7 operations.

The company reported that 8 TB and 10 TB versions will be available this month, while 14 TB to 24 TB models will follow in Q1 2026.
