Under the patronage and in the presence of Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of Kazakhstan, Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications, participated in the Digital Bridge 2025 Forum in Astana.

He also joined the Advisory Artificial Intelligence Council sessions, held as part of the forum, with government officials and global experts in artificial intelligence and digital transformation.

Al Olama announced that artificial intelligence is a vital pillar for driving change in governance models and improving efficiency in both government and private sectors. He reported that AI adoption delivers positive impacts on societies’ well-being.

He revealed that the UAE, under the directives of its leadership, has adopted a comprehensive national AI strategy. This forward-looking vision positions AI as a key driver of development and helps establish the UAE as a global hub for future technologies.

Al Olama praised strong collaborations between the UAE and Kazakhstan. He commended Kazakhstan’s role in the global AI landscape and highlighted its pioneering efforts that support cooperation in research, mobility, and digital adoption.

Both nations share a vision focused on investing in talent and fostering partnerships in artificial intelligence.

Digital Bridge 2025 is Kazakhstan’s premier technology forum, taking place from 2nd to 4th October in Astana. It gathers over 67,000 participants, 1,000 speakers from more than 100 countries, 500 startups, and 500 investors. Tracks cover AI, blockchain, healthtech, edutech, IoT, AR, VR, agritech, cybersecurity, e-commerce, and space tech.

The UAE and Kazakhstan maintain strategic partnerships. Last year, the two countries signed 22 bilateral agreements valued at over US$5 billion. The UAE is Kazakhstan’s leading Arab partner in trade, energy, and transport.

Kazakhstan recently established a Ministry of Artificial Intelligence, showing its commitment to innovation. The UAE was the first in the region to launch a National AI Strategy.

Both nations aim to build advanced partnerships in frontier technologies, including generative AI, capacity building, and ethical AI frameworks. They seek to contribute to sustainable development and a shared digital future that benefits the region and the global community.
