The University of Sharjah (UoS) has announced a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Binance Academy, the educational arm of Binance. Binance is a leading blockchain ecosystem and cryptocurrency infrastructure provider. This agreement aims to boost long-term collaboration in blockchain education, Research, talent development, and innovation.

The MoU was signed by Prof. Maamar Bettayeb, Vice Chancellor for Research and Graduate Studies at UoS, and Rachel Conlan, Chief Marketing Officer at Binance. The partnership reflects a shared vision to equip students and researchers with the tools, knowledge, and opportunities to lead in the evolving blockchain and Web3 ecosystem.

Under the agreement, both organizations will collaborate on academic programs, joint research projects, workshops, and hackathons. They will also provide student internship placements, support startup incubation, and enable expert exchanges and industry mentorship programs.

Prof. Bettayeb highlighted the university’s commitment to empowering students with real-world insights. He said the partnership will integrate global industry expertise into the innovation ecosystem and prepare graduates for leadership in the blockchain sector.

Conlan added that Binance supports the UAE’s digital transformation vision by investing in local talent, research, and education. She noted that Binance’s 280 million users globally bring world-class expertise to help shape the future of Web3 in the UAE and the region.

This MoU aligns with the University of Sharjah’s strategy to position Sharjah as a regional hub for advanced technologies and sustainable innovation. It also reinforces academia’s role in supporting national and global tech ecosystems through industry partnerships.
