Veeam Software, the global data resilience, has announced the appointment of Allison Cerra as its new Chief Marketing Officer (CMO). She will report directly to CEO Anand Eswaran.

Cerra joins Veeam from Alkami Technology, where she served as Chief Marketing Officer since 2021. Her career includes leadership roles at Hewlett Packard Enterprise, McAfee, Intel, and Alcatel-Lucent, providing her with deep expertise in enterprise technology, cybersecurity, and cloud innovation.

Anand Eswaran, CEO of Veeam Software, said Cerra understands the intersection of technology and trust. He added that her ability to connect with customers and turn marketing into a growth engine will be key as Veeam enters a new phase of innovation focused on data resilience and AI.

Cerra will lead Veeam’s global marketing organization, overseeing:
• Brand strategy and product marketing
• Demand generation and communications
• Events and digital engagement

Her appointment comes as Veeam expands its mission to help enterprises safeguard and mobilize their data in the AI era, enabling organizations to recover fast and adapt faster.

Cerra succeeds Rick Jackson, who is retiring after a 40-year career and three-and-a-half years as CMO. Eswaran acknowledged Jackson’s role in modernizing Veeam’s brand and thanked him for his leadership.

An award-winning marketer and futurist, Cerra has a strong record of translating emerging trends into growth strategies. At Alkami Technology, she led brand and customer engagement initiatives for the fintech’s digital banking transformation. She also guided HPE’s digital-first marketing shift during the COVID-19 pandemic and redefined McAfee’s brand identity following its separation from Intel.

“In a world where AI is reshaping what’s possible, data resilience isn’t just protection, it’s permission to innovate,” said Cerra. “Veeam empowers organizations to trust their data completely, so they can move faster and with confidence. I’m thrilled to join the company that defines resilience in the age of AI.”
