Today, ManageEngine, the enterprise IT management division of Zoho Corporation, unveiled an enhancement to its unified endpoint management (UEM) solution, Endpoint Central, by introducing cutting-edge next-generation antivirus (NGAV) capabilities. This transformation positions Endpoint Central as a comprehensive endpoint protection platform (EPP). These advanced features will be showcased at GITEX Global from October 16th to 20th, located at the Dubai World Trade Centre in Hall 7 – C1.

In the current cybersecurity landscape, the significance of NGAV cannot be overstated, as it addresses vulnerabilities that traditional antivirus solutions may overlook. The NGAV component of Endpoint Central harnesses the power of deep learning models integrated with neural networks and behavioral detection to identify both known and previously unidentified threats, including those with novel attack patterns. This solution offers real-time protection rooted in edge AI and the ability to function offline. It achieves this by conducting monitoring, analyses, and remediation processes directly on the device.

Mathivanan Venkatachalam, the vice president of ManageEngine, emphasized, “Endpoints have long been a favored target of cybercriminals. Over the past decade, we’ve consistently expanded our endpoint security offerings, including vulnerability assessment and remediation, browser security, endpoint privilege management, data leakage prevention, and anti-ransomware tools, all of which assist organizations in reducing their attack surface. With the introduction of NGAV capabilities, we’re augmenting Endpoint Central with AI-driven malware protection, thereby rounding it out as a comprehensive EPP and empowering our customers with a holistic cyberdefense approach.”

The Benefits of Endpoint Central’s NGAV are as follows:

  1. Unified Agent: Endpoint Central employs a single, lightweight agent that encompasses a wide array of high-impact features, such as device lifecycle management, remote troubleshooting, user experience management, and endpoint security.
  2. Comprehensive Remediation Policies: This unified approach allows security teams to enact necessary measures, including patch application, quarantining affected devices from both the internet and intranet, enforcing password resets, reverting devices to their IT-approved baseline configurations, and eliminating vulnerable applications.
  3. Seamless Incident Investigation: The platform features built-in capabilities for remote troubleshooting and system management, facilitating instant and thorough incident investigations of quarantined devices.
  4. Feedback Loops for Enhanced Security: Endpoint Central empowers security policies to be continually updated based on threats identified by the NGAV engine, steadily bolstering the organization’s cybersecurity posture.

ManageEngine has been a stalwart presence in the IT management sector for over two decades and has systematically built a robust foundation of IT management and security capabilities. The introduction of NGAV into Endpoint Central represents a strategic move to fortify endpoint security within the company’s extensive suite of cybersecurity solutions.

Mathivanan Venkatachalam stated, “Our aim is to provide an AI-driven, all-encompassing platform for the digital enterprise, where cyber resilience takes center stage. This platform enables customers to craft and implement a comprehensive security strategy by constructing workflows across multiple ManageEngine security offerings, automating threat detection, response, and incident investigation.”
