Passwordless authentication: Is your company ready to move beyond passwords?
If there are no passwords to steal, organizations can remove a key vector for compromise. Its claimed passwords were to blame for 84% of breaches last year. At least, you’ll be making bad guys work a lot harder to get what they want. And credential stuffing attacks, currently attempted in their billions each year, would become a thing of past.

Ransomware cost US companies almost $21 billion in downtime in 2020
Cybercriminals usually requested ransoms ranging from half a million dollars all the way up to US$21 million. Some attackers also upped the ante by carrying out double-extortion attacks, where they pilfer data from the victims’ systems before going on to encrypt them with ransomware … which would lead to embarrassment and stock devaluation at best, and to huge regulation penalties.

Hackers could force locked iPhones to make contactless payments
When carrying out a payment via a smartphone app, the user has to authenticate the transaction using either one of the iPhone’s built-in biometric authentication features, or punch in a PIN code, reducing the threat of relay attacks. However, in May 2019 Apple introduced the “Express Transit/Travel” feature that allows Apple Pay to be used without unlocking the phone.
