World Password Day: Passwords are the Prize Target of Phishing Scams
Highlighting the threat that compromised passwords pose, a survey by HYPR identified that nearly a third of respondents had experienced a credential stuffing attack wherein cybercriminals attempted to employ a large number of stolen user logins and passwords to compromise applications and systems. Adding to the challenges already plaguing IT teams, hackers also use stolen passwords for personal emails.

New mobile payment scams: 2021 predictions by McAfee
According to research by RSA’s Fraud and Risk Intelligence team, 72% of cyber fraud activity involved the mobile channel in the fourth quarter of 2019. The researchers observed that this represented “the highest percentage of fraud involving mobile apps in nearly two years and underscores a broader shift away from fraud involving web browsers on PCs.”

New tool helps companies assess why employees click on phishing emails
Phishing is an unsolicited email or any other form of electronic communication where cybercriminals impersonate a trusted organization and attempt to pilfer your data. Information such as access credentials can be then abused for further attacks or sold on the dark web and used to commit fraud or identity theft.
