SolarWinds, a renowned provider of robust, secure observability and IT management software, has unveiled a suite of fresh service management and database observability solutions aimed at assisting organizations in achieving operational excellence, improved business outcomes, and accelerated innovation across their enterprise.

The introduction of the new Enterprise Service Management (ESM) and the upgraded SQL Sentry® solutions represents a pivotal step in SolarWinds’ ongoing strategic shift to seamlessly integrate observability and service management. Boasting nearly a quarter-century of experience in the enterprise software sector, SolarWinds equips its customers with the essential tools to maximize the value of their digital initiatives and enhance productivity within intricate IT ecosystems. With a diverse clientele spanning IT ops, DevOps, SecOps, AIOps, and CloudOps teams, SolarWinds has leveraged its success to evolve its business model, enrich its product portfolio with cutting-edge AI-enabled solutions, and refine its go-to-market strategy.

Sudhakar Ramakrishna, President and CEO of SolarWinds, emphasized the company’s unwavering commitment to adapting its solutions and operations in line with the evolving challenges faced by its customers. Ramakrishna stated, “At SolarWinds, we have a simple but fundamental strategy for success: listening to, and learning from, our customers. Our utmost priority is aiding our customers in staying innovative, competitive, and productive. By providing them with precisely the tools required to address today’s most pressing challenges and staying aligned with their transformation journey, we’ve not only been able to expand and mature but also propel our own business forward.”

Enterprise Service Management: Empowering All Departments

The newly introduced SolarWinds® Enterprise Service Management (ESM) solution extends the benefits of service management beyond IT teams, enhancing the management, efficiency, interactions, and user experiences across all departments within an organization.

SolarWinds ESM offers a robust solution for businesses currently reliant on disjointed tools across various departments to handle incoming requests and workflows. This fragmentation leads to silos that hinder response times and add complexity to the technology stack. SolarWinds ESM enables departments such as HR, legal, marketing, facilities, and others to establish dedicated service management environments complete with their ticketing systems, knowledge bases, service portals, and request catalogs.

This unified view of service requests and issue management empowers every department, including those outside of IT, to more effectively define and oversee incoming requests, departmental portals, and internal work orders. The result is an improved employee experience and an enterprise-wide commitment to delivering maximum value to both internal and external stakeholders.

Cullen Childress, GVP of product management at SolarWinds, highlighted the significance of equipping each department with essential digital tools. Childress noted, “In an era where every company operates as a technology company, we believe that every department should have access to digital tools critical for enhancing efficiency, transparency, and integration within their department. These new features will enable each department to act as a true partner in supporting other areas of the business.”

SQL Sentry 2023.3: Enhanced Database Monitoring for Administrators

SolarWinds has also introduced an upgraded version of its comprehensive database performance monitoring and DataOps solution, SQL Sentry. SQL Sentry 2023.3 boasts an improved web portal, query-level wait statistics, and a revamped Environmental Health Overview (EHO) dashboard, making it easier for organizations to identify and prevent database performance issues.

In the increasingly complex landscape of hybrid and multi-cloud environments, database performance problems can quickly lead to costly bottlenecks and severe outages. SQL Sentry offers an enhanced monitoring experience, offering both real-time and historical data to enable database professionals to rapidly detect, address, and prevent issues.

SolarWinds expanded its database observability solutions through the acquisition of SentryOne in October 2020, incorporating SQL Sentry into its suite of powerful database management tools. The company has continued to invest in these solutions, including Database Performance Analyzer (DPA) and Database Performance Monitor (DPM), to empower customers to proactively avoid outages, pinpoint issues at their root causes, and maximize the value of their databases while minimizing risks.

Kevin Kline, Senior Staff Technical Marketing Manager at SolarWinds, acknowledged the evolving role of database administrators and highlighted the continuous dialogue with users and the broader data community as driving forces behind SolarWinds’ innovative solutions that simplify the lives of data management professionals.

SolarWinds remains dedicated to helping organizations navigate the ever-evolving digital landscape by providing essential tools and solutions that align with their evolving needs.
