Tech Mahindra has unveiled a cutting-edge Sports Cloud Platform, developed in collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS), aiming to revolutionize the global fan experience. Fueled by Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Analytics, and Augmented Reality/Virtual Reality (AR/VR), this initiative underscores Tech Mahindra’s commitment to digital transformation and innovative solutions.

The sports cloud offering, arising from a Strategic Collaboration Agreement inked in September 2023 between Tech Mahindra and AWS, is geared towards advancing digital capabilities for sports organizations. The partnership seeks to bring fans closer to sports institutions and the action itself. Facilitated by the agreement, Tech Mahindra gains easy access to AWS resources, fostering joint go-to-market initiatives and business growth.

The Sports Cloud Platform addresses the escalating demand for enhanced fan experiences, integrating IoT for efficient sports stadium management and catering to sports organizations’ appetite for data-driven insights. The collaboration between Tech Mahindra and AWS aims to provide a comprehensive digital platform for sports organizations, covering content and community engagement, customer data management, audience segmentation, and sports analytics. Furthermore, the platform leverages AR/VR and metaverse gamification to deliver immersive stadium-to-home fan experiences.

This innovative cloud offering enables sports organizations to transform digital properties, enhance audience engagement, and generate new revenue streams by tailoring services to audience needs. Tech Mahindra is set to deploy this Sports Cloud Platform to elevate the digital capabilities of sports leagues and organizations, with Punjab Kings, a professional Cricket team, already benefiting from the collaboration to engage fans through content, community, and commerce integration.

The Sports Cloud Platform, built on AWS, leverages real-time analytics, AI, ML, high-performance computing for AR/VR, enriched broadcasting, and Web 3.0 technologies. It harnesses AWS native services and specialist offerings like AWS Elemental MediaLive, AWS Elemental MediaConvert, Amazon Kinesis Data Streams, and Amazon Managed Blockchain. Additionally, Amazon SageMaker is utilized for ML-powered AR/VR video and image analytics, offering fans virtual stadium tours, live event experiences, shopping, and access to sporting event footage.

Samira Bakhtiar, General Manager, Media, Entertainment & Sports, AWS, expressed excitement about the collaboration, highlighting AWS’s commitment to driving digital innovation in sports and enhancing fan engagement. Jagdish Mitra, Chief Strategy Officer and Head of Growth at Tech Mahindra, emphasized the platform’s potential to disrupt the sports tech industry, creating a personalized, fan-focused community that transcends physical sports. This initiative aligns with Tech Mahindra’s NXT.NOWTM framework, dedicated to delivering a ‘Human Centric Experience’ through cutting-edge technologies.
